Struggling with the notion that it's life not film

#89 Timecrimes (2007) Dir. Nacho Vigalondo

I’ve had this on the pile for ages after hearing a ton of great stuff. I’d also seen Vigalondo’s short 7:35 in the Morning beforehand which I really liked so I had a good feeling about it. In a nutshell Timecrimes is a really twisted yet simple and nicely plotted oddity. It’s almost too clever for it’s own good however, and you’ll have pieced many of the parts together long before the film does but it’s still an impressive and engaging watch. It reminded me a lot of a british movie called Triangle which I really hated but I liked this a lot more. Will definitely see what Vigalondo dishes out next.
