Fincher’s film departs dramatically from the book: Mikael Blomkvist is more...
– W Magazine.
I knew about the ending but these other changes are welcome too in my book. So it seems it aint based on the novel as closely as we thought!

You know what else I’ve realised that’s cool about David Fincher? Since Zodiac I don’t think he’s used his name in the advertising of his movies at all. I’m sure it’s his doing too because the studios must be dying to slap the words “From the director of Seven, Fight Club and The Social Network” on the trailers to create some extra buzz. He’s...
theshadowofyoursong replied to your post:Just read your stuff on the new Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and just thought I’d correct you because it isn’t actually a remake. Apparently Fincher’s film is based closer to the book so it’s not just based on the original movie and you can’t remake a book!
Matt Reeves claimed that Let Me In was a re-adaptation of the book, and that turned out to be beyond...

Me and Jess just watched the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (she’s never seen it before) and yeah…Fincher needs to really do something spectacular with his version to justify it’s existence. Watched the trailer again and it really does seem so similar. Daniel Craig is such a good choice for Blomkvist though. And Stellan Skarsgard in his role. I have a good feeling about...

But seriously, after Inglourious Basterds I don’t understand how any American movie can get away with the whole “Oh we’re foreign but we just speak English with an accent in our home country” thing. I guess I’m secretly hoping that Fincher made his cast learn Swedish and the film is actually subtitled which is why there is no dialogue in the trailer. Wouldn’t...

Okay, so here are my thoughts on The Girl With The...
I’m in two minds.
Positives:
David Fincher
The Cast - Daniel Craig especially is such a good choice for Mikael Blomkvist. As soon as he was cast I was like “well that makes sense” and Rooney Mara looks great for Lisbeth too.
David Fincher
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’s Score
It looks gritty and brutal as hell
The trailer
They’ve changed the ending. Not...

Another good thing about the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer is that Fincher and his team don’t seem to have toned down the original films nastiness. There are some quick glimpses of the rape scene and it looks very harrowing. Glad Hollywood aren’t glossing over the rough edges. Though, a lot of the shots seem ridiculously similar to ones from the original film, I really hope it...

Fans try to save Bottle Rocket hotel →
This is so great. Bottle Rocket is my favourite Wes Anderson movie.

You wish you were in the US for Super 8… but you get to see that trailer a week before us, so I think we’re all even.
Well if you went to see Hangover Part II you could see it, it’s not just showing in the UK, some people in the US are getting it too :)
theshadowofyoursong replied to your post:Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer was amazing!
holy shit, where did you get to see this????
It was in front of The Hangover Part II. It’s a really phenomenal trailer, reminded me a lot of the Creep trailer for The Social Network, but with Karen O doing Led Zep over loads of fast cutting from shots from the movie that builds to...

This is the song I heard on the trailer. It’s really fucking great. Seeing that trailer on the big screen is worth the price of admission for Hangover 2 alone!

Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer...
So epic, scored to a (from what I could gather) Yeah Yeah Yeahs (or Karen O at least) cover of Led Zep’s Immigrant Song. Was even better cos I wasn’t expecting it at all. Grabbed Jess’s hand as soon as I clicked into what it was. The footage looks VERY similar to the original which is a tad worrying but all the actors looked fantastic in their roles. VERY excited to see what...
Just got MINDFUCKED by the trailer for Fincher's...
Hangover Part II starting in a few minutes. Got a tough act to follow. Wow.

Anonymous asked: Are you going to go see Hangover 2?
I’m surprised none of the reviews for Hangover Part II have compared the remake/sequel style to Evil Dead II yet. They’re all like “hmm it’s hard to pin down it’s like not quite a sequel not quite a remake, can’t think of anything to compare it to…” and I’m like…
hello?

Maybe I should just bite the bullet and spend some of my savings on a flight to America so I can see Super 8, Tree of Life and Midnight In Paris. I mean that’s the kind of thing I’m saving for…I guess. And I could do a big video diary of my journey to see Super 8 and maybe if I pretend I have a tragic life too I’ll become one of those internet celebrities and Steven...
